August 15, 2024 Our commitment to providing an exceptional golf experience is always evolving. We are excited to share that our newly planted TifTuf bermudagrass fairways are thriving in the heat of summer. Currently the team is completing the topdressing of all tees, approaches, green surrounds, and landing areas. Next the team will move to the bunkers to begin grooming them and ensuring they are ready for play come October 4. We will also be repairing damaged landscaping that occurred in the construction process. August 7, 2024 Rams Hill Golf Club is in full-growth mode and doing exceptionally well. To support the development of the new TifTuf bermudagrass fairways and enrich the soil with essential nutrients, the maintenance team has begun top dressing the golf course. What is Top Dressing? This process includes adding a layer of nutrient rich sand to the newly planted turf which will then settle into the soil. The benefits of top dressing include a smoother playing surface, improved drainage, thatch control, and to promote lateral growth. Additionally, each putting green planted last summer with Mini Verde bermudagrass has undergone aerification and top dressing. Watching Grass Grow: July 19, 2024 See the progress on Holes 6 and 7, the first to be planted in this summer's multimillion dollar transition to TifTuf bermudagrass. Planted on May 16, the summer weather is ideal for growing in this new grass. Today, 77 days before opening day 2024, we are seeing great growth and coverage of the new grass. The coming weeks thru mid-September will also offer prime growing conditions for the grass to establish. Each new Blog will continue to show the progress of these two holes. July 15, 2024 Watch below to see the TifTuf bermudagrass fairways, roughs, tees, and surrounds continue to flourish on Holes 6 & 7 and the newest addition to the golf course, the turf nursery. This turf nursery is planted with MiniVerde bermudagrass which is used on the greens to aid in future repairs. Each hole is now undergoing the growth process, which entails a strict irrigation cycle, a mowing schedule, and regular inspections.
