"Do you know what an International Dark Sky Community is? We had no idea, until our trip to Anza-Borrego. It's a town that has shown exceptional effort to the preservation of the night sky through light restrictions. Borrego Springs is the main town in Anza-Borrego, and has a town law that lights must be out (porch lights off, restaurants closed, etc.) by 9pm each night, for the sake of stargazing & sky education. Following a wonderful dinner at Rams Hill, we sat by the fire outside waiting for the stars to come out. And O.M.G. guys- it was breathtaking. If you have never been to a Dark Sky Community, add it to your list now! Just after dusk, the sky was freckled with billions of stars, and shooting stars, too."
