By Jose Verduzco, Golf Course Superintendent

My staff and I are excited to start the 2019/2020 season as we worked through a long, intensive summer. We will also continue to improve the golf course for our guests in the fall, winter and spring. We, the grounds crew, would like to encourage members and guests to help us maintain Rams Hill as the beautiful place it is. The following are some ways you can help.

  • Fill Divots: Filling divots with enough divot mix helps maintenance crew save time and allows us to do more for golfers and guest.
  • Rake Divots and Footprints in Bunkers: Raking your foot prints and divots in bunkers will allow the next golfers ball to roll smooth with in the bunker and end up on a smooth flat surface for he/she to take an already difficult shot.
  • Fix Ball Marks: Fixing a ball mark does more than keep a true surface for the golfers behind. Un-repaired ball marks are more likely to turn yellow than those who are gently lifted.
  • Golf Cart Traffic: Golf carts and maintenance machinery are two of the main factors for golf course traffic wear. We encourage you to drive and park away from Tees Greens and traffic areas. And remember to always look for the healthiest rough to exit and enter a hole.

Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to stop me on the course with any concerns or questions you might have.
